New T-shirt designs, other stuff
It's looking like the Cheerleader gig is wrapped for me, which is fine because I needed time off to move out of the studio. We were located next door to a dry cleaners, making it a little like living in a lint trap! I thought that the last place I officed was lint-filled (a facility that made fleece hats). I've gotten just about all of my stuff moved -- just a few boxes of negatives and other files remain. I've also found time to tune-up the Migrant Filmmaker logo designs, with variations. I worked a commercial gig for Extraco Bank the other day, where one of the actors flagged me down to tell me that his son would like his own shirt that read "Live to Shoot, Shoot to Live" on it. I see from the sales reports that he ordered that one, as well as a Migrant Filmmaker one. I'm wearing another one today and tomorrow during a shoot for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
My wife noticed that the Wonder Dogs (renamed Miracle Dogs Too) movie on the shelf at Wal-Mart over the weekend. It was a hoot getting to see the first film that I worked on as a still photographer. I definitely learned a lot for the next time -- like to charge more, and bring more lenses. On my first job for the newspaper, I used to carry all of my gear (four camera bodies, six lenses) everywhere. On our way out to a Baylor-A&M basketball game, the chief photog told me to only take two bodies with lenses. That night there was a CO leak in the A&M locker room, which sent the entire team to the hospital. I'd stashed another lens in my vest, in defiance to the chief's orders. It came in handy, too. When we found out what was going down, he rifled through my pockets and snatched my 28mm from my pocket. I could probably learn a lot more from my younger self, too.

Abandoning QWERTY
At lunch today, my wife brought up the topic of the QWERTY keyboard, and why it hasn't given way to the Dvorak layout. It insired me to make the switch. So, I am now hunting and pecking my way arund this friggin' new layout! I won't go back, though! Grr...
Well, I can't do it, after all. My programmable keypad from PI Engineering isn't international-keyboard-layout-compatible, so I'm back to QWERTY. Just when I was getting the hang of it, too...

Moved office this weekend
...and am just getting settled in at the new location. In fact, it's an old location, but it feels new because I'm using a different arrangement for my desks and stuff. There will be a little less clutter, thanks to the industriousness of my wife, who spent two ten-hour days moving and installing all of my stuff. I was going to try to recruit some hand models for a civic theater project at the rehearsal tonight, but fatigue is setting in, so I will probably shoot for another night this week. I can hardly keep my eyes open as I type this...

Widget Test
I've just upgraded to the Tiger OS, and have been bitten by the dashboard widget bug, big-time. I'm writing this from the blogger widget, to see if it works...

Change of format

I'm thinking that I'll start adding new work to the blog pages, instead of using the old gallery method. It may make it easier in the long run to update an online portfolio. We'll see. I have a tendency to work on images months or even years after I initially generated them. The one in this entry started out last year, and has been worked on in both Photoshop and Painter.
