Time Passes...
I've been gainfully occupied with a reality show/docudrama that's shooting in Waco, of all places for the last few months, so that mostly explains my absence from the blogsphere. For several weeks during that time, the crew passed around a bug of some sort, so when I was not working, I was trying to rest up to go back to work. Now that the production is winding down, I find myself in the grip of a sort of withdrawal -- the thought that I'll have to search for or be found by the next gig is weighing heavily on me, to the point of constant distraction. It's getting so that I spend too much time playing PS2 or staring at craigslist postings. I imagine that I'll find work (it usually finds me), but the apprehension is tough to shake. I really don't care to get a regular job, but this gig has been so good that it's difficult to see it go away.
In other news, the InFocus X1 that we bought off of eBay last year bit the dust (color wheel motor gave up), and so we've replaced it with an InFocus Screenplay 4205, which is better suited for our home theater application. I don't have great expectations for the longevity of the new projector, either, but at $1,200.00, it beats the price of a plasma screen, even if it only lasts a couple of years.
